Doctors

Dr Jeffrey N H Cheetham (m)

MB, ChB, MRCGP, DRCOG, FPCert, DGM

Having moved from London, Dr Cheetham qualified from the University of Birmingham in 1983, and joined the practice in 1988.

In addition to General Practice, Dr Cheetham has a number of other roles:

He is the clinical lead physician for the stroke rehabilitation service based at Moseley Hall Hospital, and also the clinical lead for the hospital Tissue Viability service
He also undertakes training of medical students, junior doctors and nursing students
He has a weekly medical outpatient clinic in Elderly Care medicine at Moseley Hall Hospital
He is an Associate Specialist at the Sheldon Palliative Care Unit in Northfiled
He has been a practice assessor for Worcestershire Primary Care Trust for 8 years

Dr Cheetham's medical interests include diabetes, cardiovascular and neurological medicine, and elderly care medicine

He is married with two children at university

Dr Jacqueline M Boden
MB, BS, MRCGP, DFFP

Dr Boden was brought up in Walsall, and attended Queen Mary’s High School.

She graduated from St Thomas’ Hospital medical school, London in 1987, and worked in a number of specialities in and around London. Since 1993 she has been a GP, and has, in the past, worked for the Brook Advisory Service in Birmingham, Dudley and Sandwell.
She has particular interests in Family Planning, Genito-Urinary Medicine, womens health and psychological medicine.

Dr Boden has three children, a dog, and a keen interest in the outdoors and watersports

Dr Saadat Hussain
MB, ChB, MRCGP

Dr Hussain graduated from Liverpool Medical School in July 2000. He moved back to Birmingham and completed his GP training in Northfield.

Dr Hussain enjoys all aspects of general practice and has a keen interest in ENT and respiratory disease. He joined the practice in May 2006.

Nurses

Sister Anne Garner, Sister Sally Gates and Sister Donna Ralston are the practice nurses and are available by appointment. They are all very experienced nurses and offer a variety of clinics and treatments.

Phlebotomists

Sue Kendle is the practice phlebotomist and holds clinics on Monday, Wednesday and Thursday afternoons. Please note that all blood samples are taken by the phlebotomist, except fasting samples, which are taken in early morning appointments by the practice nurses.

Reception

Our reception team are here to help you. They work to the same level of confidentiality that you would expect from your doctor or nurse. As such, each member of staff signed a confidentiality clause prior to commencement of employment at the practice.

On occasion you may be asked for brief medical details to enable staff to offer you the best treatment option i.e. would a doctor or nurse be the most appropriate person to deal with your problem. It is also very useful for our nurses to know the reason for an appointment, as this allows them to get any equipment, etc ready in advance. It is perfectly acceptable for you to decide not to offer this type of information, and this decision will be respected by our staff, but please be aware that staff will not ask for information other than to help plan your best treatment.

Community Midwives

Telephone 01527 488141 (Worcestershire Midwife) or 0121 678 2986 (Birmingham Midwife). The practice-attached midwife carries out routine antenatal care for expectant mothers.

Community Nurses

The District Nursing team (Telephone 0121 453 7937) is based at Frankley Health Centre. Nurses are available to see you in your home if you are housebound. They give advice and care to the acutely and chronically ill.

Health Visitors

The health visitors (Telephone 0121 453 3536) provide help and advice, particularly to families with children under the age of 5 years old. They are also available for advice on matters concerning general health and nutrition.

Counsellors

Lorraine Knibbs is our In-House Counsellor, and the doctors refer patients to her. She offers a confidential service to patients who may be depressed, or anxious, as a result of some recent, or past event in their life e.g. sudden bereavement, divorce or illness.
