INFECTION PREVENTION AND CONTROL – NEW ROAD SURGERY
This statement has been written by Tracy Husbands (Clinical Infection Prevention and Control Lead).
New Road Surgery aims to provide a safe environment for patients, visitors and staff. The practice undertakes an annual infection and prevention audit every year. Actions are set and followed up.
The practice undertakes audit each quarter to monitor risk of infection from invasive procedures.
Education is conducted annually by clinical staff via eLearning for Health. The link nurse attends annual updates and hopes to provide an surgery training this year for all staff.
All policies are updated annually and circulated to clinical and non-clinical staff.
There is a nominated lead and link person.
Minster Cleaning Service provide cleaning schedules and the practice have cleaning schedules for equipment used in clinical rooms. All staff have access to wipes to individually clean equipment.
COSHH information is available.
Infection control is on the agenda and discussed at weekly partners meetings and quarterly nurse meetings.
